Enrolments

Canterbury Gardens Kindergarten runs a 4 year old kindergarten program for 22 children and a 3 year old kindergarten program for 22 children.

Enrolments for this kindergarten are done via the Boroondara Central Enrolments.

Enrol online

The kindergarten central registration scheme provides a ‘one stop shop’ for kindergarten
applications. Apply online at www.boroondara.vic.gov.au/kindergarten.

3-year-old transition to 4-year-old the following year.

Children attending a funded 3-year-old kindergarten program are not eligible to access a second year of 3-year-old kindergarten. Children accessing 3-year-old kindergarten will transition to a funded 4-year-old kindergarten program the following year.

If  you are considering sending your child to the three year old group and they turn 3 in March or April please contact the kindergarten to discuss their starting date as they are unable to start until they turn 3.

How do I apply?

Families can register their child for Canterbury Gardens Kindergarten through the kindergarten
central registration scheme, which is managed by the City of Boroondara.

You can apply online at www.boroondara.vic.gov.au/kindergarten.

What is the Enrolment Policy?

We are part of the Boroondara Kindergarten Central Registration scheme and therefore enrolments are covered under their policy.
The Kindergarten Central Registration Policy for entry into the three-year-old and four-year-old program is available on the Boroondara Council website.

When will I find out about my place?

All offers are made via Boroondara Kindergarten Central Registration.

How do you rank applicants?

The selection criteria are contained within the Kindergarten Central Registration Policy document.

When can I register interest?

Families are encouraged to express interest in attending kindergarten from birth. This enables you to receive important updates, including information about when to register and attend open days. 

Your Maternal Child Health Nurse may also discuss this with you especially if your child has the options of which year to commence.

Reminder:

All enrolments for CGK are via Boroondara Kindergarten Central Enrolments, therefore prior attendance does not automatically result in a place at CGK. E.g. if wishing to attend in concurrent years or to enrol siblings, please ensure your child’s preferences via Boroondara Kindergarten Central Enrolments have CGK as first preference.  Preferences can be changed at any time up to the closure date of first round offers to be considered in the first offers made by Boroondara Kindergarten Central Enrolments.
